SHERU ABDULHUSEIN

Sheru represents and advises clients across Ontario on family law issues including divorce, decision-making responsibility (custody), parenting time (access), child support, spousal support, property division, Family Responsibility Office (FRO) enforcement matters, interjurisdictional support, and domestic contracts such as separation, marriage, and cohabitation agreements.

She also assists parents with child protection matters (disputes involving children’s aid societies). She regularly appears in court and represents clients in negotiations, mediations and arbitrations.

Sheru is also an advocate for tenants involved in disputes with their landlords. She helps tenants understand their rights and represents clients at the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Sheru has significant experience assisting clients who are survivors of violence and trauma, and strives to uphold anti-oppressive principles and a survivor-centred approach in all her work. She earned a J.D. from Queen’s University in 2014 and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology from McMaster University.
